[JOB] PHP/XML in Fribourg/Switzerland?

By hannes @ 11:44 [ PHP Hypertext Preprocessor ]
My company in the beautiful city of Fribourg is looking for developers experienced in OO-PHP and XML, including the standards (XMLRPC, XSLT, XHTML, FO, SMIL, SVG, DocBook, …) we use daily.
We employ part-time only (60-90%), offer interesting projects and 5 weeks vacation, a friendly atmosphere and a very democratic and participative way of taking decisions.
For more information, see our website or just drop me a line (Freelancers and teleworkers need not apply, sorry).

Edit: I don't have to emphasize things like 'communication skills' and 'self-directedness', do I. :)

Popoon in Luck

By hannes @ 11:09 [ PHP Hypertext Preprocessor ]
Your favourite XML pipeline processor, good ol' Popoon, is not only heading towards PHP5 compatibility, today Chregu added another nice little component: popoon_components_generators_s9y[1].
As you might have already guessed, this thingy integrates the Serendipity weblog software into Popoon. Integrating S9Y seems to be a piece of cake, the actual code of the Popoon component consist of less than 30 lines at the moment. Slick.
Pretty cool to be able to integrate a weblog pretty much everywhere in a website, manipulate its output in XML, transform it with your XSL… and so forth. Looks like Bxcms Ng doesn't have to worry about a blog plugin :)

You can see the first instance of a S9Y-Popoon Weblog at Planet PHP. After his posts on Processing Large XML Documents with PHP 5, Chregu rocks the (PHP-) Planet again. Wonder what will be next :)

[1] works like this: "$blog_data = ob_get_contents();" ;)
